My name is Jonathan Tafoya, I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1977. That is the same year Elvis died and Star Wars was born. In 1999 I started my tattoo career out of the house on friends and relatives. Though I thought that was the way, it was not. I then realized my work wasn't getting any better so I went out to find an apprenticeship.
I found a couple mentors that took me under their wings and gave me the tools to better my journey. After a few shops and deciding to tattoo full time, a few of my friends and I decided to open our own shop Living Dead Tattoo in 2007. Many lessons were learned for me with responsibilities and the lack of paying attention to them.
Fast forward 2 years later to 2010 I was making some huge decisions in my life. Getting Married, having a baby, and starting a new tattoo shop with my wife as my partner. Lowlife Tattoo Company was then born in Pahrump, Nevada, November of 2010.
At this shop I figured out myself and what I am capable of. I put a smaller community and their tattoo industry on a worldwide map when I was featured on Vicelands Needles and Pins.
In 2019 I re-located my family to Colorado and worked without the title of owner. Lowlife Tattoo Company was closed in 2022 three years after I left and twelve years after I opened the doors.
I am now living in Lakewood, Colorado with my wonderful family of four. Now more than ever I can say I am extremely grateful for what we have created.
Over the years I have figured out a way of tattooing that works best for me. I also know my worth, my capabilities, and the experience I can create for my clients.
My goal is to be pleased with what I put on your body and of course you to be excited with what you get to carry for life.
